1. GENERAL
Leerders wat nasorg verlaat: Learners leaving aftercare: Parents of learners leaving aftercare must please provide a month's written notice. Notices can be sent to the Head of Aftercare. If no notice is received, parents will be held liable for aftercare fees.
Collection of learners: Parents must personally collect learners from their classes and sign the register. No learner may be collected by someone else.
2. REGISTRATION
- Annual Registration applies. The Registration fee will however only apply for the first year.
- The first month’s fees must be paid before the learner may attend Aftercare.
- Payment via EFT (no cash payments at school)
3. AFTERCARE HOURS (Important!)
Aftercare only operates during school terms and will be closed during school and public holidays.

NB: Parents should strictly adhere to the Aftercare hours.
- First time offence: a Half-day Aftercare Learner's parents will receive a warning
- Second offence: the Half-day Aftercare Learner will be enumerated as a Full-Day Aftercare Learner
- First offence by Full-day Aftercare Learner's parents: parents receive a warning
- Second offence by Full-day Aftercare Learner's parents: learner is expelled from Aftercare
4. COLLECTION OF LEARNERS
- Learners must be collected from their respective class rooms.
- The register needs to be signed by the person who collects the child.
- No hooting in front of gates please.
- Please inform the teacher, by letter or telephonically, if your child is to be collected by someone other than yourself.
- NO parking will be allowed on the Aftercare’s premises.
5. FINANCES
Aftercare fees are payable in advance, on/before the 1st of every month, February – November. No child will be allowed to attend Aftercare if an account is in arrears.

10. LIGHT LUNCH (Gr 1 to 3 Learners)
A light lunch, as well as a snack, is provided every day. Learners eat their lunch sitting at a table and courtesy and manners are reiterated on a daily basis.
Should you want to provide your child with an additional snack, please exclude the following:
- sweets
- flour products i.e. cake/cookies
- too much salt (chips)
We would rather recommend the following:
- nuts
- fruit / dried fruit
- veggie sticks
- salad
- healthy bread
- Pro-Vita's
- cold meat
- boiled eggs
11. EXTRAMURAL ACTIVITIES
The caregivers will see to it that the learners attend their activities, but cannot accompany them. Parents should inform the caregiver of their child’s activities and times thereof.
12. HOMEWORK
Although homework is done in the afternoon at Aftercare, it remains the responsibility of the parent. Each child must have their own stationery. Only learners with valid letters from their parents will be excused from the homework class. Learners must give his/her full co-operation during this time.
13. EXCURSIONS
An Indemnity Form must be completed for every outing. The prompt return of all forms is always appreciated.
14. AFTERCARE RULES
- Respect – show respect towards all staff and other learners as well as school property.
- No running and screaming in the passages or bathrooms.
- Leave the bathroom tidy at all times.
- No foul language to be used.
- No aggressive games to be played.
- No littering.
- Marked toys may only be brought to school on FRIDAYS. Please note that all toys are brought to school at your own risk.
- No objects that can cause bodily harm will be allowed.
15. DISCIPLINE
Learners who disrupt classes and portray disciplinary problems will be dealt with as follows:
- The aftercare teacher will deal with the problem.
- However, if matters are not resolved in class, the teacher will notify the parents, where after the Aftercare Principal will be informed.
- If necessary, the School Principal and Governing Body will be consulted for evaluation or dismissal.
It is of the utmost importance that there is a good relationship between the home and Aftercare.
