Application process for 2026

All public schools are expected to adhere to the following WCED admissions timeframes:

  • School admissions open on 11 March 2025 and close on 15 April 2025.
  • Applications received after 15 April 2025 will be treated as late applications.
  • Parents will be informed of the outcome on 30 May 2025.
  • Parents must confirm the place on the WCED website as well as per email to Durbanville Preparatory School / Durbanville Preparatory School Preprimary between 30 May 2025 and 10 June 2025.

Procedure:

All applications must be done on the WCED’s Admissions website. No hard copy applications are to be submitted to the school. Please use the following website address to register and apply online: https://admissions.westerncape.gov.za/admissions/ADMISSION.login.

Please apply in order of preference to the three schools closest to your residential address.

All documents required by the WCED must be uploaded to the WCED website.

When registering and applying online on the WCED website, have the following documents ready:

  • Proof or residential address (only a certified municpal account or certified valid lease agreement will be accepted).
  • Certified copy of learner’s birth certificate / passport.
  • Certified copy of ID document of biological parents.
  • Certified copy of immunisation card (Road to Health).
  • Certified copy of immunisation card (Road to Health).
  • Cemis number of siblings (if already enrolled at Durbanville Preparatory School). It is important to fill in the sibling’s details on the online application.

If the learner’s application was successful, certified hard copies of supporting documents must be delivered to the school within seven school days of the parent(s) confirming the place at the school. The application is incomplete until all relevant supporting documents have been submitted to the school.

Please note: If your child is already a registered learner at Durbanville Preparatory School Pre-primary for 2025, you do not need to apply for Grade 1 through the WCED online system. Grade R learners from Durbanville Preparatory School Pre-primary will AUTOMATICALLY transfer to Grade 1 in 2026.
